TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Thursday afternoon a luncheon was held to celebrate the winners of the 6 over 60 contest.
Dozens gathered at The Red Barn to celebrate Doug Grim, Bob Baesler, Dana Simons, Sally Stewart, Danny Wayne Beemer, and Dr. Allen Lueking. These winners were honored with their own personal video, a trophy, and a 6 over 60 jacket.
Winner Danny Wayne Beemer said he is thankful there is a platform to recognize these individuals.
“I really feel fortunate to be a part of this first group,” he said. “I want to thank Camp Navigate and everyone that is involved in this because recognizing individuals that are over the age of 60, we have some pride, and now you gave us a spotlight.”
The winners also got a chance to be interviewed by members of Camp Navigate. Beemer said he was nothing short of impressed with these kids and has full faith in the future of the Wabash Valley.
“I see the caliber of young people that are going to be leading the Wabash Valley in the next few years, and Camp Navigate is just that, a launching pad for tomorrow’s leaders,” he said. “I am very excited with the four core services that they put forward.”
Each of these winners will also get their own featured segments on WTWO’s lifestyle show Good Day Live.
