VIGO COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – Camp Navigate took steps to keep children cool while they visited the Wabashiki Fish and Wildlife Area on Monday.
The children enjoyed activities like fishing, games and exhibits.
Camp Navigate Executive Director Eleanor Ramseier said every child had a water bottle and could get re-fills. The camp also provided sunscreen.
The park had tents set up to provide extra shade, so Ramseier said children were only out for about 20 minutes before going back into the shade.
Ramseier added this field trip is something families have been looking forward to.
“On days like today, they’re given the choice that their kids can stay back if they would like, but they’re super excited for them to experience this knowing that we’re going to put safety first before anything else,” said Ramseier.
Camp Navigate is a summer camp that teaches children values and skills that will help them with employability later in life.
