PARKE COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — A Rosedale man was arrested for operating a vehicle while intoxicated after police found a wrecked, abandoned vehicle alongside beer cans in a ditch with the driver found in a field nearby.
According to a release from the Parke County Sheriff’s Department, around 8:45 p.m. on Friday, March 8, officers received a call regarding a wrecked vehicle in a ditch on Rosedale Road near County Road 300 East.
Officers arrived to find the vehicle unoccupied with beer cans both inside and around the area. Officers then searched the scene of the wreck, and the release noted, “A while later the male driver was located in a nearby field laying down.”
The driver, James Liddle II, 62, of Rosedale was checked for injuries and then arrested for the following:
- Operating a vehicle while intoxicated
- Possession of paraphernalia
- Possession of a controlled substance
Liddle was taken to the Parke County Jail and has a bond of $8,000.
