LINTON, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – On Thursday members of the Linton community came together to raise money for Madi Moore who passed away earlier this week.
Jiffy Treets in Linton, Indiana held a fundraiser for Madi Moore and her family. Hot Cheetos ice cream was offered to those who came to support.
The Anderson family sponsored the event and they know what the tragedy of losing a child feels like all too well.
In 2007 the Anderson family lost their son Eric to a congenital heart defect that caused him to have a pulmonary embolism. His family said he was always a helper to those around him, so when Madi passed they saw the perfect opportunity to help.
Along with the special ice cream they had shirts to sell that said ” I Beat the Heat Treet”.
Between the ice cream and shirt sales and donations in general, they raised $982.52.
Ashelan Tilton, a friend of Madi’s and an employee at Jiffy Treet, said “Madi would be so excited, of course she would feel blessed cause she always feels that way. I think she’d be really proud of the community coming together.”
Tilton also said that Madi was a bright light with strong faith. She was well loved and will be missed by many.
