TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – The Society of Trash Baggers is making a commitment to clean up Terre Haute.
12 Points Revitalization President Jennifer Mullen said that the group has nearly 2,000 people in a Facebook group. She said upon the groups creation, only about two dozen people were involved.
The clean up efforts originally began in 12 Points but spread throughout all of Vigo County.
Mullen said that the group has received support and supplies from community leaders for its efforts to beautify the area.
Mullen added that a personal goal of hers is to help grow Terre Haute and Vigo County.
“A clean city looks like a nice city to live in,” Mullen said. “My personal goal is to help grow the economy and get people to move here and grow.”
The next organized clean up will be on March 19th from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. and participants are asked to meet at Grace Community Church.
