TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — The Wabash Valley Coin Club hosted its coin and currency show Sunday at the Vigo County Fairgrounds for coin collectors and dealers to gather, converse and trade.
Coin Club Treasurer Marvin Mericle said it is important to have these types of shows for the committed coin collectors.
“We host two shows a year,” Mericle said. “This makes it easy for collectors to come in and find a coin that maybe they’re missing in their collections.”
Mericle said he encourages people to consider coin collecting as a hobby because of the historical education one could receive.
“If you look at the coins and collect them in the proper manner it gives you a lot of history of how our country was established and it represents,” Mericle said.
