VIGO CO., Ind. (WTWO/ WAWV) — Vigo County high schoolers started a new schedule schedule with virtual on Mondays.
To help the students, the Vigo County School Corporation has made getting internet access a top priority.
They made school buses internet hotspots on wheels.
All high schoolers in the Vigo County School Corporation received Chromebooks to complete online learning, and now students can access internet on any of the 19 bus hotspots in the county.
The school corporation says the reason for going to online learning on Mondays is because contact tracing is difficult over the weekends.
The corporation says these hot spots are easy to use for every student.
“The WIFI password and the key has been pushed out to every student who has one of our Chromebooks,” Bill Riley, Director of Communications for VCSC, said. “So, a student can pull up into one of the parking lots next to the bus, open their Chromebook, and they should automatically connect to the WIFI.”
