INDIANAPOLIS — Governor Eric J. Holcomb signed the Gaming Matters bill into law Wednesday.
The law allows sports betting in Indiana and paves the way for a casino to come to Vigo County.
Gov. Holcomb offered the following statement after signing

“Gamingis a highly regulated industry that once had little competition, but now doesfrom surrounding states and new technology. By modernizing our laws, thislegislation will spur positive economic growth for our state and for anindustry that employs over 11,000 Hoosiers. Additionally, it will bring in newrevenue and create hundreds of new jobs – both permanent and in construction. Iwill direct the Indiana Gaming Commission to monitor for potential effects ofthis bill so that we can make necessary changes in future legislativesessions.”
